IEEE ISA ESW2016
This is my third straight ESW and as usual after 4 days I have gained knowledge to share with my clients and peers. This will be the subject of a few white papers over the next few months. I attended the working group for the IEEE 1584 - Guide for Performing Arc Flash Hazard Calculations. The new IEEE1584 incident energy equations have been finalised and are currently being voted on. The new model is based some 1,860 tests performed at different voltage levels and box and anode configurations. The result will be a more realistic and accurate model. However, be forewarned you will likely see a 200-300% increase in your current MCC arc flash incident energy levels with this model
